Standing here at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., I’ve been thinking about legacy.
Abraham Lincoln planted seeds in this nation that he would never fully see come to fruition in his lifetime, yet generations later, we are still experiencing the fruit of courageous decisions, sacrifice, and faithfulness.
And I believe the Lord is saying to many of you:
“I have not forgotten the seeds you have planted.”
There are prayers you have prayed, sacrifices you have made, acts of obedience no one else saw, and things you have poured into your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, families, churches, communities, and nations.
You may not see all the fruit yet—but Heaven has not forgotten.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!” — Psalm 126:5
The Lord says, “I am going to give you legacy. I am going to bless you and your generations.”
What you are sowing today may become the breakthrough someone in your family walks in tomorrow.
Scripture says:
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” — Proverbs 13:22
And again:
“His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.” — Psalm 112:2
So don’t become discouraged if the harvest seems delayed.
Keep planting. Keep praying. Keep building. Keep believing.
God sees every seed.
“For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name.” — Hebrews 6:10
Some of what you are doing right now is bigger than your lifetime.
You are planting for generations.
You are building a legacy.
And the Lord says, “I will not forget your seeds.”
