AUGUST WORD OF THE LORD | YOU WILL COME FORTH AS PURE GOLD
I was praying about a word of the Lord for you, and if we ever needed a word from the Lord, it is today. There are so many things coming at us right now, and the word I kept hearing was pressure. I believe there are two kinds of pressure many people are experiencing in this season: one is the pressure of the enemy, and the other is the refining work of the Lord.
I believe the Lord is saying, “Do not be distressed when you are in the refiner’s fire. I am going to help you in the midst of that fire, and you are going to come forth as pure gold.” Job 23:10 says, “But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Refining is not always comfortable. Sometimes we are walking through situations that stretch us emotionally, financially, spiritually, and even within our families.
James 1:2–3 tells us, “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” Sometimes I need those “count it all joy” moments because I don’t feel very joyful. I feel stressed, I feel pressure, and there are moments when I simply have to tell my emotions to come into alignment with the Word of God. But I want to tell you something: you are an overcomer, and you are going to get through this hard time. Romans 8:37 reminds us, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
I especially want to speak to those of you who are under financial pressure right now. Maybe you are looking at circumstances that seem impossible. Maybe the numbers don’t add up, and you are wondering how you are going to make it through. I believe the Lord is saying, “The provision is coming.” Continue to trust Him as your provider. Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
I also feel this is a targeted word for parents who are deeply concerned about their children. You have prayed, you have worried, and you have wondered what is going to happen. Do not give up praying and believing. God sees your children, and He knows exactly where they are. Isaiah 54:13 says, “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
At the same time, we need to recognize that not every pressure we experience is simply the refiner’s fire. There is also spiritual opposition. Daniel 7:25 says, “He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law.” There are seasons when the enemy attempts to wear down the people of God, and sometimes that pressure is not only physical. It can affect your emotions. You may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, discouraged, or simply worn down by everything happening around you.
But I believe the Lord is saying to you, “I am going to teach you how to still your emotions. I am going to help you because I am there for you, and I am going to cause you to triumph in the midst of all of life’s challenges.” Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” You do not have to allow every circumstance to determine your emotional condition. You can bring your heart back into agreement with what God has spoken, stand on His promises, remind yourself of His faithfulness, and worship in the middle of the pressure.
So this August, remember this: pressure does not mean God has abandoned you. Some things are being refined, and some things must be resisted. Through it all, the Lord is with you. You are an overcomer. Your provision is coming. Keep praying for your children. Still your heart before the Lord, trust Him to bring you through, and believe that you are going to come forth as pure gold.
With Love,
