Every year the Prophetic Councils of different nations come together to fast, pray and wait on the Lord for prophetic words for the new year. They do this because they care about their lands and because they realize that God does nothing without first revealing it to the prophets (Amos 3:7). Often these words are sent to national prayer groups so that they can stand in the gap for them in prayer.
This document is a summary of the most important themes that were discussed when we as the Netherlands Prophetic Council came together on Nov. 26, 2008. It also contains several words for the Netherlands that were spoken out by Dr. Sharon Stone during the Ambassadors Ministries conference on Friday Oct. 31, 2008.
The content has been tested by Stacey Campbell and by Dr. Sharon Stone; both experienced leaders of national prophetic councils. We asked them to do this because it is a Biblical mandate to test prophetic words (1 Thess. 5:21) and because we recognize that this is an area in which we have relatively little experience.
There are several factors that influence the timing and the fruition of a prophetic word:
Every prophecy not contained in the Bible is conditional, eg. if someone receives a prophetic word and does not continue to walk with the Lord the chances are great that the word will not be fulfilled.
God’s idea of timing is different than ours. This can mean that not all of the prophetic words contained in this document will be fulfilled in the space of 12 months.
Prophetic warnings that cause people to repent can result in judgment being delayed or canceled, eg. when Jonah prophesied to Nineveh.
God gives us revelation about what He has on His heart so that we can co-labor together with Him. As a council we have identified several areas that require our attention this coming year. As you read these words we pray that God would encourage you as you labor to see His kingdom established wherever He calls you.
2009: The Year of Acceleration into the New Wineskin
On October 31, 2008 Dr. Sharon Stone prophesied, “Netherlands, you are a little late but today I offer you the gift of being on time.” The Netherlands is ready to accelerate into the new wineskin. We are ready because there is a readiness in desperation among the people of God.
Jesus said that you can’t put new wine in old wineskins (Matt. 9:17). Because Jesus is committed to building His church there will be places where He will not pour out His glory at this time. The result will be that there will be a separation between life and death, between true religion and tradition and between presence and powerlessness. This divide will pull people out of hiding and out of compromise. The Lord says, “I am going to visit this land with My fire. Time has now caught up with the sparks of My Spirit and there is a work to do of igniting fires. Netherlands, do not wait for the old to tear. Put away the old and step into the new.”
