Israel Prophetic Prayer Journey
Category: Prophetic Reports, Middle East
The word of the Lord came to me during the 2004 meeting of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders that a team was to be sent out from us to Israel. As a result of this word, four of us went to Israel in January of 2006. The team consisted of Wesley and Stacey Campbell and Mike and Cindy Jacobs: Two Canadians and two Americans.
Three of us embarked from Dallas, Texas after the ACPE meeting to rendezvous with Wesley Campbell in Frankfort. In the end, the flights of all four of us were delayed and we missed our connections in Germany and had to wait in Frankfort for about thirteen hours for the next flight. Such is the glamour of international travel.
Day One
At last we arrived in Tel Aviv at the hotel at 5:00 a.m. After a short rest we got up and met our friends, Ari and Shira Sorko Ram to visit the ancient port of Jaffa, (Joppa). We were to find that God had many surprises for us as we prayed our way across Israel and this day was no exception. The Lord definitely ordered our steps.
As has happened to me (Cindy) many times during the years, the weather on this prayer journey was cold and rainy. This has actually been a blessing on many prayer journeys, as it has kept crowds of people away while we did the prophetic acts and strategic praying that God laid upon our hearts.
Our first stop was the port where the prophet Jonah would have gone to Tarshish rather than obey the mandate of God to preach repentance to Ninevah. I must say, now that I realize that Ninevah is the modern day city of Mosul, in Iraq, I have a little more compassion for him. Just imagine, one Jewish man, getting on a boat alone, going all the way to Ninevah and expecting a whole city of strangers to repent if he would prophesy!
Chuck Pierce had given me a “kosher” compass that always points to Jerusalem to use in this prophetic act. We used this prophetically to steer the whole prophetic movement in the right direction and declare that it would not go amiss and into deception. In addition, we declared that there would be prophets who would rise up with such a strong accurate word, that whole cities would come to repentance.
Ninevah is the only city that we know of in history where a prophet gave the word and a whole city fasted and repented. We believe this is a model that God wants to release in coming days around the world.
We also read the passage from Acts 9:36-42 where Peter healed Dorcas in the city of Jaffa, which is biblically, Joppa. We prophesied and declared the release of the anointing for signs and wonders in Israel as well as for a new release of compassion ministries. These were to become major themes on our journey.
