A Year of Holy Spirit Birthing– 2009 will be an exciting yet challenging year.
A Year of Holy Spirit Birthing – 2009 will be an exciting yet challenging year. The number nine is the number of the Holy Spirit. There are nine gifts and nine fruit of the Spirit. It is also the number of the time for birthing. After nine months a mother gives birth to her child. This will be a time for gestating the presence, power and purposes of God. There are some things that will be birthed this year – new vision, new businesses, new anointings, new divine connections, new miracle manifestations. There are things many have been pregnant with for a long time that will come forth this year. As with a natural birth, there may be travail, contractions, squeezing and some pain to bring things forth, but once the birthing is accomplished we won’t even remember the difficulties because of the incredible joy we have set before us!
As I have prayed and considered the Word of the Lord for 2009 two prominent scriptures have come to mind. The first one is the following:
Isa 60:1-3 ”Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles (nations) shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Arise in Hebrew means simply to rise, – but in the Greek it is a word of power restoring life from death… egeiro – to waken., rouse (literally, from sleep, from sitting or lying, from disease, from death; or figuratively, from obscurity, inactivity, ruins, nonexistence): to stand up. Many miracles were accompanied with the use of the word “Arise” This will be a year for diverse miracles as we Arise!
Shine means to be luminous, be enlightened, the break of day, set on fire, be resplendent with prosperity. In English it means to give out light, to excel, to have a radiant quality
Darkness is the Hebrew word Choshek meaning darkness; misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness: from root meaning to withhold light
Gross Darkness is a word meaning gloom, gross, thick dark cloud. It is used to describe a tempest or storm.
But the Lord will rise upon you – This is a Hebraic picture of the sun rising on a dark earth at daybreak.
…And His glory shall be seen upon you– Kabowd is the Hebrew word for glory meaning splendor, honor, weighty with richness and abundance. Shekinah is another term for glory indicating the manifestation of the person of the Lord.
This will be a year to see a new dimension of God’s glory in the midst of darkness.
Clearly, we have entered a season in the earth where darkness and light are colliding. There will be much shaking in the kingdoms of this world, but it poises the Church for one of its greatest days of victory and harvest.
The second prominent scripture for this year is found in 2 Chronicles 20:20 which is a prophetic word given in the time of great battle.
2 Chron 20:20 ”Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
It was interesting to me that this verse is reference number 20:20. I believe that in the midst of times of great darkness in the earth, God wants to give His people 20/20 vision to see future plans and destinies for God’s Kingdom purposes. God wants us to have 20/20 spiritual vision for 2009 which moves past fear and into faith. This is a fresh season of faith towards God, without which no man can please Him, as well as a season for God’s people to embrace and war with the prophetic word which will release their destiny and prosperity.
