USRPN - 06/15/08 Prayer State by State

Dear Intercessors,
As generals of intercession, we are called to contend in prayer for righteous government, and the preservation of the family--as God intended it. Please join us on Tuesday, June 17 in a day of Prayer and Fasting for the Preservation of Marriage. Please also continue to saturate the presidential election in prayer. Prayer guides are provided below. The future of our nation is at stake. Watchmen, take your places on the wall!
A Strategy to Force Same-Sex "Marriage" in YOUR State

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has released a how-to manual for forcing same-sex "marriage" on all 50 states. Get involved in preserving marriage!
The strategy is outlined in a six-page memo called "Make Change, Not Lawsuits", which has been made available to the public on the ACLU's website. The memo cautions homosexual couples who marry in California from being too quick to sue their home states and employers for recognition of their same-sex unions. The memo states: "[It] unnecessarily angers a public whose support we ultimately want to have... Bad rulings will make it much more difficult for us to win marriage, and it will certainly make it take much longer." This initial caution is part of a thorough step-by-step strategy for achieving the left-wing's eventual goal of legalizing same-sex marriage in every state.
According to Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council: "Homosexuals recognize that their movement to marry does not have the broad support of the American people. Instead of bringing lawsuits in every corner of the country, groups like the Human Rights Campaign, GLADD, Lambda Legal and others, ask homosexuals to wait for state legislatures to tackle the issue...Like us, this coalition recognizes that everything is riding on the California marriage amendment. This is one battle that both sides cannot afford to lose. Get involved in preserving marriage."

June 17: A Day Of Prayer and Fasting for Marriage

The US Reformation Prayer Network is joining the efforts of Concerned Women for America (CWA) on Tuesday, June 17 for a Day of Prayer and Fasting "to ask God's intervention in these attempts to radically redefine the institution of marriage."
The four California State Supreme Court judges who made the decision in favor of same-sex "marriage" on May 15 have opened the flood gates to legal chaos in this nation by also refusing to grant the request to stay (delay) the implementation of their decision until the November election. This means that as of 5.01 p.m. on June 16, homosexual residents and non-residents of California can begin "marrying".
This poses a serious problem for every state within our nation, as homosexual couples will marry in California and then file lawsuits for recognition of the legalized unions in their home state or place of employment--thus forcing homosexual marriages to be recognized across the country.
As watchmen on the wall, we must contend for righteousness to be upheld in marriage in this nation--marriages that are meant to be a union under God between a man and a woman.
We ask that you join us on Tuesday, June 17, for this Day of Prayer and Fasting to "to ask God's intervention in these attempts to radically redefine the institution of marriage."
Please pray for the following items:
- Judges, who will honor their oaths, and the written state and federal Constitutions.
- This fall's referendum in California, which will overturn the unjust Supreme Court decision by amending the state's Constitution.
- A renewal of faith in our nation; that we Americans will experience a new Great Awakening; that our nation will return to the Biblical values on which she was founded.
- Believers to be bold in speaking out in defense of marriage.
- Many hearts, especially the hearts of persons facing same-sex attractions, to be open to God's healing power and grace.
"Prayer is the key to this battle. We need to see hearts changed by God at the same time that we're trying to change minds. That's why I'm inviting my fellow Californians especially to join CWA in prayer and fasting for our state and our nation." -Phyllis Nemeth, CWA of California State Director

Election 2008 Weekly Scripture Prayer Guide

We have developed a scriptural prayer guide in preparation for the 2008 Presidential Election and request that this guide be used in intercessory prayer beginning the week of June 8th and then each week subsequently until the day of the election.
The USRPN will have daily fasting and prayer, and beginning Sunday, June 8, we will have at least one state per week saturating the elections with fasting and prayer until the day of the election. We encourage you to participate in whatever corporate prayer initiatives will be taking place within your state during your state's assigned week. During the weeks that remain until election day, there are three very significant weeks to make note of:
- August 24 - August 30: Democratic Convention, Colorado
- August 31 - September 6: Republican Convention, Minnesota
- November 2 - November 4: Week of the Election, National Call to Prayer.
The actual day for the presidential election is Tuesday, November 4th, 2008.
The states of Iowa, Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona have been assigned to fast and pray for one week each, successively, during the first four weeks of this prayer initiative. Please check back on our website soon for a complete state-by-state schedule and USRPN State Prayer Coordinator contact list.
Please use this prayer guide from week-to-week until the 2008 election day, and share it with as many people as possible. We are calling for prayer groups around the world to join with us in prayer during this critical time for the United States of America. The future of our nation is at stake. It's time to pray, it's time to repent, it's time to prepare!
