Can a city be transformed?

Deep Ellum, TX. In the 1920’s, this Dallas neighborhood became known for the jazz and blues artists who would come through, making regular appearances in the growing collection of clubs in the area. Pawn shops, tattoo studios and walk-up Hotels lined the dangerous streets, where murder was not uncommon and there was easy-access to drugs. Deep Ellum also had a red-light district.

In recent years, Deep Ellum has seen somewhat of a turn-around as new businesses have entered the community, but the area continues to struggle with high crime rates and many of the live music venues have been closing.

Breakthrough. In an effort to bring breakthrough to Deep Ellum and the entire Dallas, Fort-Worth Metroplex, Generals International is teaming up with area churches and Jason Upton for 24 hours of continuous prayer and worship. Prayer watches will begin on October 31 at 6:00am and continue through the night, concluding at 6:00am on November 1, 2006.
