CALL TO PRAYER - 04/10/08 - PREPARING THE WAY FOR BLEND

"The Lord said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground." Genesis 4:10

This is a call to action! A call to mobilize prayer teams across this nation on April 10, 2008.

"In this juncture of our nation's history, there is an urgent need for dedicated and courageous leadership. If we are to solve the problems ahead and make racial justice a reality, this leadership must be fourfold." King, Randolph, and Wilkins (April 5, 1957)

The Civil Rights Act of 1960 was a United States Federal Law that established federal inspection of local voter registration polls and introduced penalties for anyone who obstructed someone's attempt to register to vote or actually vote.

The Senate's debate over the passage of this bill actually started on February 29, 1960. However, a group of 18 Southern Democrats divided into three teams of six in order to be able to create a continuous filibuster wherein each member would only have to speak for four hours every three days. This system resulted in the longest filibuster in history, lasting over 43 hours from February 29 to March 2. On the morning of March 2nd, only a fifteen-minute break was allowed before the Senate sat for another 82 hours. By the time the 24- hour sessions were called off by majority leader Lyndon Johnson the Senate had sat for 125 hours and 31 minutes, minus a fifteen- minute break.

The result: April 10, 1960 - the US Senate passes the Civil Rights Bill.

The act was signed into law by President Dwight Eisenhower on May 6, 1960.

If we want to go forward and enter into the new, we have to get rid of the past. This is the season. If the church really wants to enter into the plan and the purpose of God, we need to deal with the issue of race. Not only race, but racism. Racism has nothing to do with color. It is the attitude of heart! It is not the issue of black; it is not the issue of white; it is an issue of heart.

When we look at history, we see that this statement is true. Look at the history of Northern Ireland. Whites have been killing whites for years. Go to Africa and read the history of the genocide in Rwanda. Look at what is happening in Sudan today. Look what is happening in Kenya. The blacks are killing blacks. So the issue of racism is not about color, it is about an attitude of the heart. This is the season we need to deal with that attitude.

In order to deal with this issue of the heart as a church, as sons and daughters of the most High God, and as a nation, we need to provide strong, moral, and courageous leadership for a situation that cannot continue to be evaded. As men and woman in the forefront of our local congregations and representatives of the government of the Kingdom, we must acknowledge that the issue of racism is not a fleeting or evanescent domestic issue that can be kicked about by reactionary guardians of the status quo; it is rather an eternal moral issue which may well determine the destiny of our nation. The hour is late. The clock of destiny is ticking out. We must act now, before it is too late.

There is something in creation that is sounding the alarm and concurring with the voices that fought for freedom in the past.

"No lie can live forever" Carlyle

"Truth crushed to earth will rise again" William Cullen Bryant

"Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne. Yet that scaffold sways the future, And behind the dim unknown Stands God within the shadow, Keeping watch above His own." James Russell Lowell

During a time of intercession and prayer the Lord gave the following word:

The Body of Christ has a spinal misalignment which has caused interference with blood flow, oxygen and communication. There are damaged vertebrae in the body. This has caused herniation (protruding abnormalities) and severe damage to the carrier and messenger cells, which have ultimately compromised the immune system and, as a result, we have broken body functionality.

The following body systems have been affected over time by this condition of brokenness:

  • Lower misalignment has caused inoperable feet.
  • Mid-section misalignment has caused inoperable hands.
  • Upper misalignment has caused diminished brain function and capacity. This condition drains the heart by causing it to work harder to produce more blood (resources) in order to reach these broken areas of the body to restore life.
  • Ultimately, the head is affected and the senses (see, hear, taste, touch and smell) are incapacitated. In the Body of Christ, this may manifest as a lack of discernment, lack of prophetic direction, numbness or complacency.

We will not have wholeness in the Body of Christ if this misalignment is not corrected.

May we be a people who inject new meaning into the veins of our nation; a people who stand with dignity and honor; a people that give new integrity and a new dimension of love to our brothers and sisters

When this happens, "the morning stars will sing together, and the sons and daughters of God will shout for joy." King, Randolph, and Wilkins
