USRPN High Alert - 05/16/08 Same-Sex Marriage Ruling in CA

Yesterday in the United States of America, sociological judicial activism has reached its peak after the 4 to 3 decision by California's Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriage.  This, in the natural, is a great blow to all who have prayed and believed God to heal our land.

As I spoke to the leader of the Reformation Prayer Network in California, we were inspired by the Holy Spirit to ask God for divine wisdom for this ruling to be a catalyst for judicial reform.  What do I mean?  Enough is enough--the line in the sand has been drawn.

As Christians, we cannot stand by idly and watch our nation be pulled into the place where God's judgment will be released from heaven.  The ramifications of this ruling are huge for our nation as a whole.

Just as the Stamp Act before the American Revolution was the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back", so we are crying out to God that this court ruling will be the deathblow for judicial activism along a social agenda.

It is time for moral activism.  When the laws of man break the laws of God, we ought to obey God.  This is that case and this is that day.  The die has been cast.  Let this ruling by the California Supreme Court wake up the sleeping giant of the church.

I believe that we need to stand and believe for two things:

1. The God of creation, Himself, will intervene to show this nation that the judges' decision in favor of homosexual marriage cannot subvert the laws of God.  
2. Believe God that those who did this atrocity will be impeached or recalled.

Strong words?  Yes, they are!  The soul of our nation is in the balance.  We must not fail.

Looking backwards and learning from history, we see that prayer and Bible-reading were taken out of school in the midst of one of the greatest moves of God our nation has ever known.  Right now, in America, many churches are experiencing historic visitations from the Lord.  While we all want these moves to continue, if they simply bless the church while leaving society unchanged, we will have failed as Kingdom believers.

This was why I wrote my new book, The Reformation Manifesto, with a burning passion for this nation.  Prophetically, many others and I could see this day coming and the need to be a voice crying out in the wilderness to bring our nation back to God.

Pro-family Americans face a grave and immediate challenge.  Led by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Senate liberals are poised to renew their push for passage of a bill that will turn the federal government into a weapon to beat churches and employers into accepting homosexual behavior as normal--even good.

Under the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), the government will no longer be a neutral observer. Instead, it will become a tool that homosexual activists will use--at taxpayer expense--to torment employers and co-workers who object to their lifestyle.
