USRPN - 11/13/08 Call to Prayer

Dear Intercessors,
Reports continue to pour in from all around the globe about the Day of Prayer for the World's Economies. We've included a few of those reports in this newsletter for you to rejoice over with us.
One never knows the full effect of such a global expression of intercession, as that conducted on October 29, 2008. We have seen God moving already among the global economy. God has given us an "eye in the storm" but the battle is by no means won.
Below we've included an urgent call to intercession on behalf of the United States, as G-20 leaders meet at our nation's capitol for a summit on financial markets and the world ecomomy, while U.S. interest in Islamic Shariah Finance grows. Again, intercessors, in this hour we must know that there needs to be no intercession as usual.
Warring for the soul of our nation,

Cindy and Mike Jacobs
Urgent Prayer - G20 Meeting on November 14-15 , 2008
On Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15, 2008, there will be a G-20 Leaders Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy in Washington D.C. The emergency summit was called two months ago by President George Bush to discuss the international financial crisis. Most of the discussions will take place behind closed doors, with much of the focus on the United States.
It is important that we intercede about this meeting and ask the Holy Spirit to intervene on behalf of the United States. I am in Thailand currently and preparing to speak, but felt such an urgency to pray and protect our nation at this time. I know that this meeting is one of those "hinges" of history concerning our nation.
To prepare for this time of intercession, study about the Bretton Woods conference. This weekend's G-20 meeting is being referred to as "Bretton Woods II". Martha Lucia had pulled together a report for us on the Bretton Woods System several months ago. Click here to access that report.
Please send any information or revelation that you receive on this matter to us right away to rpn@generals.org.
God bless you,
Cindy

President Bush at United Nations Interfaith Conference

www.frc.org - "President Bush traveled to the United Nations Wednesday to join Gordon Brown of the U.K. and Shimon Peres of Israel at a two-day conference presided over by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The conference is a continuation of last July's summit of world religions held in Spain and also organized by King Abdullah and the Muslim World League. Later today, the U.N. is expected to endorse a statement issued at the conclusion of the Spain conference on the importance of religion and humanity's common values. Among them is "respect for religions, their places of worship, and their symbols ... therefore preventing the derision of what people consider sacred." All religions deserve respect, but the devil is in the details. As Leonard Leo and Donald Argue, members of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, point out, this language is "a cleverly coded way of granting religious leaders the right to criminalize speech and activities that they deem to insult religion." In other words, this may be giving U.N. approval to Islamic "blasphemy laws," which are used to stifle dissent. If King Abdullah and other supporters of the Madrid statement truly care about the value of religion, they must allow people to freely practice the faith of their choosing, as prescribed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, rather than give cover to blasphemy laws."

U.S. Interest in Shariah Finance Opens Dangerous Doors

Shariah-compliant banking, sometimes called Islamic banking, is growing in popularity in the Western and Islamic worlds. But critics say American interest in the system at a time of economic crisis is opening the door to increased Islamic influence in the American banking system. Worse yet, some fear the banks may be helping to finance international terrorism.
Just two days after the election, the Bush Administration's Treasury Department is treated members of Congress, the staff of U.S. banking regulatory agencies, the Department of Treasury, and others in the White House to a high-profile forum on Islamic or Shariah Finance. The purpose of the meeting is, according to Treasury, "to help inform the policy community about Islamic financial services, which are an increasingly important part of the global financial industry. The Department of the Treasury, working with Harvard University's Islamic Finance Project, will host speakers from academia and industry to share information on the development of Islamic finance, both in the United States and globally."
Please continue to intercede for the U.S. and global economic systems.

Iraq Cabinet to Vote This Weekend on Presence of US Troops
The Iraqi cabinet will vote on a controversial military pact to govern the presence of US troops (SOFA: Status of Forces Agreemet) in the country on either Saturday, November 15 or Sunday, November 16, 2008 Iraq's finance minister said.
This is a critical situation that needs to be pushed through in prayer. We don't want to lose the harvest we have coming from that nation.
