USRPN - 06/09/08 Election National Prayer Initiative

On May 15, 2008, 4 activist judges overturned the historical definition of marriage, striking down a law passed in 2000 by 61% of California voters, which defined marriage as a union between a man and women.  As the door to same-sex marriage was opened, the church began contending in prayer for these things:

• That the California same-sex "marriage" amendment would be put on the November ballot, allowing California voters to decide the matter, and if successful, overturn the California judges' decision.
• That the California Supreme Court would grant the request of a "stay" on the Court's ruling, placing a hold on the creation of same-sex "marriage" until after the November vote.
• That all states would institute Defense of Marriage Acts, thereby refusing to acknowledge same-sex "marriages" performed elsewhere.
• That a Federal amendment would be passed, which adds language to the Constitution defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
• That the God of creation, Himself, will intervene to show this nation that the judges' decision in favor of homosexual marriage cannot subvert the laws of God.
• That, as God says in His Word, those who did this atrocity will be impeached or recalled.

On June 3, 2008, we rejoiced as the California Same-Sex Marriage Amendment was certified by the Secretary of State for the November ballot.  

On June 4, 2008, however, judicial activism returned with a vengeance, as the California State Supreme Court denied the request to put the creation of same-sex "marriage" on hold until after the November election.  

This June 4th decision is detrimental to our nation as a whole, as it has cleared the final hurdle for homosexual couples to start getting "married" legally in California as early as June 17, 2008.  Homosexual activists will launch out from California to demand that every state recognize their California "marriages." New York State has already led the way through Gov. David Paterson's statewide directive for same-sex "marriages" performed elsewhere to be recognized in New York.  Homosexual activists will also push to overturn the Federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and to see the U.S. Supreme Court declare homosexual marriage a constitutional right, as the high courts in Massachusetts and California have done.

Many times we miss the connection between the decisions made against God's laws and how the Creator, Himself, responds through creation.  However, the Lord spoke to me saying that He--the God of creation--would respond to the recent California decisions in favor of same-sex marriage through strong winds, violent weather, flooding, and even shaking in the form of earthquakes.  However, if we will repent, He will spare us.

On Wednesday, June 4, 2008, the same day in which the Court refus to stay their same-sex marriage ruling, a nationwide severe weather advisory rolled across the entire country!   Beginning in the west and moving all the way through to the eastern seaboard, there was a major outbreak of violent thunderstorms, heavy rains, destructive tornadoes, grapefruit-sized hail, damaging winds, fires, and even snow and frost in other areas.  Many of these severe weather patterns are occurring in extremely unusual areas, as some affected areas have not seen such weather activity in over 100 years!  As this violent weather has continued to ravage the nation throughout the week, hundreds of counties across the country have declared disaster areas and states of emergency, requiring federal help.  This violent weather activity resulted in fires, mudslides and massive flooding that destroyed homes, threatened levees, and was even responsible for at least eight deaths and thousands of displaced families across the country.  

As we were in the process of preparing this report, we received news that a string of 20 earthquakes rattled Reno, Nevada.  Already, we are seeing the prophetic word given last week come to pass!

We believe that these violent weather patterns and the recent earthquakes are a release of holy indignation--a response from the God of Creation Himself--to the detrimental California decisions regarding same-sex marriage!  

It's a time to prepare, it's a time to pray, it's a time to repent.  May the laws of our land be righteously reformed and the sanctity of marriage, an institution of the family, as God intended it, be restored.

The word of God commands us to pray for those in authority over us.  (1Timothy 2:1)  With that in mind, we are asking people all across the world to pray with us as we ask God to choose the next President and Vice-President of the United States of America.  
 
We have developed a prayer guide in preparation for the 2008 Presidential Election, and request that this prayer guide be used be beginning the week of June 8th and then each week subsequently until the day of the election.  

This prayer action is being implemented through the United States Reformation Prayer Network (USRPN), which will have daily fasting and prayer through the election day.  At least one state per week will be saturating the elections with fasting and prayer until the day of the election.  

We encourage you to participate in whatever corporate prayer initiatives will be taking place within your state during your state's assigned week.  
Below you'll find the weekly prayer guide, along with a week-to-week state prayer schedule.  During the twenty-two weeks that remain until election day, there are three very significant weeks to make note of:

• August 24 - August 30:  Democratic Convention, Colorado
• August 31 - September 6:  Republican Convention, Minnesota
• November 2 - November 4:  Week of the Election, National Call to Prayer

The actual day for the presidential election is Tuesday, November 4th, 2008.
 
We are calling for prayer groups around the world to join with us in prayer during this critical time for the United States of America.  Please forward this prayer guide to your state network and share it with houses of prayer and other prayer communities within your state.  We also encourage you to use this prayer guide on a weekly basis during your personal prayer time and in your church's prayer services until the 2008 election day. 

Day One
 
When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.  Proverbs 29:2
 
Father God, we recognize today that God is neither a Republican nor a Democrat.  We decree, Lord, that you are going to choose a leader as President of the United States who will be righteous and make the people rejoice.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
 

Day Two
 
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.  Psalm 89:14
 
Father God, we cry out for the marriage of righteousness and justice in the United States of America.  Lord, we ask you to choose the right president and vice-president who will understand both the needs of the poor and the right of the unborn to life.  God, we ask that you choose the leaders who will not lean towards righteousness without justice nor justice without righteousness.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
 

Day Three
 
Then it shall be in that day, that I will call My servant, Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah; I will clothe him with your robe and strengthen him with your belt; I will commit your responsibility into his hand.  He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and of the house of Judah.  The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open, and no one shall shut; and he shall shut, and no one shall open.  I will fasten him as a peg in a secret place, and he will become a glorious throne to his father's house.  Isaiah 22:20-22
 
Father God, we thank you that you are preparing leaders for the United States who will have your heart for this nation.  Leaders who are free from corruption and self-will, full of the spirit of wisdom and understanding in the knowledge of you, who will lead this nation into opening the righteous and ancient gates for the land.  Lord, we cry out that the United States will be city set on a hill that will be a righteous beacon of light to the nations of the earth.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
 

Day Four
 
Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent sprit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.  So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error of fault found in him.  Daniel 6:3-4
 
Father God we cry out to you to bring us leaders over this nation who will have an excellent spirit like Daniel.  We ask that our next president and vice-president will be faithful to you, first, God, and then be found without compromise or corruption.  Leaders who care about your opinion more than any other.  Lord, give us a Daniel for our next president!  In Jesus Name, Amen.
 

Day Five
 
Then He showed me:  Behold the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand.  Amos 7:7
 
Father God, set a plumb line of your word against those running for president and vice-president.  Lord God, I pray that your infallible scripture will be that which this nation is measured by from the White House down.  Lord God, put your leader in the highest offices of this nation who believe that you are the way, the truth, and the life.  We cry out for heart adjustments in any way for those you have ordained to be the heads of this nation so that they will measure up to the rule of God.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
 

Day Six
 
But the court shall be seated and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it forever.  Then the kingdom and dominion and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High.  His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.  Daniel 7:25-26
 
Father God, we pray that you, the righteous judge of the universe, will set into the highest offices of this land those who will appoint judges who adjudicate after your heart.  Men and women with a heart for the unborn and the rule of law.  We cry out, "Let your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!"  Lord, take away any authority from those you have not chosen and exalt those into offices that are ordained from you.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
 

Day Seven
 
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of His government there will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever, The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.  Isaiah 9:6-7
 
Father God, we thank you that you will put into office one who believes that you are the governor of the nations.  Lord, put the government of the United States upon your shoulder.  Bring a supreme commander into office that will protect the nation yet release the anointing of the Prince of Peace.  Increase your governmental law and authority in this nation because we know that righteousness exalts a nation.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
